About Levael

Levael has spent a decade in Knysna’s local government leadership. As Ward Councillor he has driven the wastewater treatment plant and sanitation upgrade, electrification and infrastructure projects, and safety and work-opportunity initiatives. As Executive Mayor (2021–2022) he oversaw annual and adjustment budgets, funded critical vacancies and built active community partnerships. As MMC for Technical Services (2016–2018) he instituted Knysna’s first informal settlement electrification programme, launched the gravel road upgrade programme and initiated the Charlesford pumping scheme upgrade for water security.

Before politics, Levael founded Motivation Impact, a strategic consultancy in professional speaking and performance interventions, and he holds a Bachelor of Public Management. He has been a pastor and marriage officer in Knysna since 2005, hosted Empower Talk on Eden FM for eight years, chaired Child Welfare Knysna — managing the construction of the new wing of the Dorothy Broster Children’s Home — and co-founded Lifeline Garden Route.
